Video | Fiber has magic, fabric has intelligence

[Editor's Note] "World Science" collaborates with the "The Paper" platform to conduct popular science reporting on achievements recognized by national and Shanghai municipal science and technology awards, funded by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission (Project No.: 22DZ2304300).

In 2019, the second prize of the National Natural Science Award for "Carbon Nanotube Composite Fiber Lithium-Ion Batteries" was achieved by a team led by Academician Peng Huisheng from Fudan University. More than 5,000 years ago, humanity began using polymer fiber materials, most commonly known as silk. Now, if you don’t want to carry a charger when you go out, don’t worry—your clothes can serve as a portable solar battery.
