    The second comprehensive scientific expedition to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a national major landmark scientific project. Since the Qinghai Salt Lake Institute undertook the topic of salt lake resources and minerals, it has established a salt lake scientific research team to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the changes in the plateau salt lake resources and environment and gather intelligence to tackle key scientific issues.

    The reporter learned from the Science and Technology Office of the Qinghai Salt Lake Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that since the implementation of the project, the salt lake scientific research team has dispatched more than 100 person-times, traveled more than 100,000 kilometers, and lasted nearly 450 days, basically realizing the full coverage of the scientific research work in the main salt lake areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. .

    At present, a series of major progress and achievements have been made in the scientific expedition of the salt lake, including the first revealing of the carbon sequestration potential of the halophilic microbial population system in the plateau salt lake area; the improvement of the evidence chain for the evolution of the Mesozoic marine potash provenance in the eastern part of the Tethys; Established the magnesium and lithium enrichment model in the Qaidam Basin and realized the innovation of the mineralization theory of "heterogeneous sources and confluences" in salt lakes; constructed an evaluation system for the resource and environmental carrying capacity of salt lakes based on resource changes; clarified the interaction process and impact of salt-dust storms and human activities Mechanism; systematically completed a comprehensive survey of lithium-rich salt lakes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and scientifically assessed the suitability of resource development; found out the distribution of deep brine in the Qaidam Basin, the characteristics of reservoirs and the geochemical characteristics of typical deposits; built the largest special scientific data on salt lakes in China bdfgh.
