
On April 23, Hayao Miyazaki's classic work "Princess Mononoke" was announced to be released on May 1st. This is also the first time that the 4K restored version of the film will be released on the big screen in mainland China.

An exciting piece of good news. 28 years after its release in Japan in 1997, Princess Mononoke, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, will finally be released on May 1 this year, making its debut on the big screen in mainland China! This is a long letter dedicated to nature and life. When the familiar melody sounds again, may you and I hear the gentle and firm whispers in the depths of the forest. I look forward to meeting you in the cinema and walking into that mysterious and ancient forest together. In 2025, let's keep our promise together!"

"Princess Mononoke" is an animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, written by Neil Gaiman and Hayao Miyazaki, and dubbed by Yoji Matsuda, Yuriko Ishida, Yuko Tanaka, Kaoru Kobayashi, Masahiko Nishimura and others.
The film tells the story of a young warrior Ashitaka who killed a mad pig god to protect the village and was cursed. In order to lift the curse, he came to Tadala in the west and met Asan, a girl raised by a dog god, known as the ghost princess.
The film was released in Japan on July 12, 1997; on February 11, 2007, the Chinese dubbed version was broadcast on CCTV-6.
As of press time, 13 films have been scheduled for May Day release.
