Notice of the 2nd "Shanghai Stock Exchange Cup" "Global Talent Gathering" Shanghai University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
In order to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply to student representatives participating in the China International University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, we aim to gather the youthful strength of scientific and technological innovation, promote the high-quality integration and development of education, technology, and talent, deepen the cultivation and introduction of top innovative talents, and better serve the construction of a high-level talent hub in Shanghai. We are creating a competition platform that attracts, selects, and gathers talent through contests, invigorating the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of young university students, and promoting the deep integration of talent, technology, and industry, helping Shanghai become a sought-after place for young university students both domestically and internationally, a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, and a space for realizing value, allowing the youth to better showcase their talents in the vast realm of Chinese-style modernization.
According to the overall arrangements for the Global Talent Gathering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2nd "Shanghai Stock Exchange Cup" "Global Talent Gathering" Shanghai University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) will be held from November 2024 to May 2025. Relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.

(VII) Executive Body
The Competition has established an Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee), led by the responsible colleagues from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Education Steering Committee, to oversee the organization and implementation of the event;
The Competition has set up an Expert Committee responsible for project evaluations;
A Discipline and Supervision Committee has been established to supervise the organization of the event, the evaluation of competition projects, related work of co-organizing units, and to address violations of competition discipline;
The secretariat has been established to handle daily related tasks.
Competition Structure
Project Categories
This Competition features six main categories, hosted respectively by Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, and Shanghai University of Technology. Each category is divided into a Creative Group and an Entrepreneurial Group, accepting both domestic and international projects. The final competition will be held in Shanghai.
Project Grouping
Each category of the Competition is divided into Creative and Entrepreneurial Groups.
1. Creative Group: Projects must possess technological innovation results or innovative products with business promotion value, and must not have completed industrial and commercial or any form of registration prior to the issuance of this notice.
2. Entrepreneurial Group: Projects must exhibit a high degree of technological innovation or developed product/service models, and must have been registered for less than five years (calculated from the date of the notice), with institutional or individual equity investments not exceeding one round, and the project leader's equity in the project's host entity must be no less than 10%.
Focus Areas and Categories
1. Biomedicine (with subcategories; Innovative Pharmacy Subcategory: focuses on new targets, new sites, new mechanisms, new molecular entities, particularly developing high-end biological products such as antibody drugs, new vaccines, gene therapies, and cell therapies, as well as targeted chemical drugs and new formulations, and modern traditional Chinese medicine; Medical Device Subcategory: focuses on high-end imaging equipment, high-end implantable devices and consumables, surgical treatment and life support devices, high-end rehabilitation aids, in vitro diagnostic instruments and reagents, and biological medical materials; Modern Medical Services Subcategory: focuses on preclinical and clinical contract research organizations (CRO), contract development and manufacturing organizations (CMO/CDMO), health and wellness medical services; Medical Digitalization Subcategory: focuses on artificial intelligence-assisted drug development, digital medical solutions) will be hosted by Fudan University.
2. Artificial Intelligence and Financial Technology (Metaverse, AI foundational layer, AI technology layer, AI application scenarios, generic technologies, virtual reality, etc.) will be hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
3. Cultural Creativity and Industrial Innovation (with subcategories; Cultural Education Subcategory: culture, entertainment, film and games, online education, etc.; Design and Creativity Subcategory: industrial design, service design, experience economy, etc.; Rural Revitalization Subcategory: rural revitalization, community renewal, etc.; Modern Service Subcategory: new retail, food technology and products, new logistics and supply chain, etc.) will be hosted by Tongji University.
4. New Generation Information Technology (integrated circuits, communication networks, industrial internet, network and information devices, network and information security services, software development, etc.) will be hosted by East China Normal University.
5. New Energy, New Materials, Energy Conservation, and Environmental Protection (new energy products and technologies, power batteries, carbon neutrality, resource recovery and comprehensive utilization, etc.) will be hosted by Shanghai University.
6. High-end Equipment Manufacturing (instruments and sensors, intelligent manufacturing equipment, rail transit equipment, smart vehicles, aerospace equipment, marine engineering equipment, etc.) will be hosted by Shanghai University of Technology.
Eligibility and Requirements
1. Project leaders must be current students (including undergraduate, graduate, and international students) from universities (including vocational colleges) inside China or must have graduated within the last five years (i.e., after 2019), including students from national open universities.
2. Project leaders must be the primary founders or core team members of the project or entrepreneurial organization, and for the Entrepreneurial Group, they must hold shares in the unit (shareholding can be direct or indirect).
3. Projects must promote positive energy, embody socialist core values, and be genuine, healthy, and legal. They must not contain any content that violates the Constitution of the People's Republic of China or other laws and regulations. Projects should be original innovative projects, and any inventions, patents, or resources involved must have clear and lawful intellectual property rights or property rights. Any act of plagiarism, false documentation, or violations of relevant laws or regulations will result in immediate disqualification from the competition and forfeiture of any gained awards, along with any associated legal liabilities.

Project Registration (November 2024 - April 8, 2025)
Participating teams can register through the official competition website (URL: https://hjyc.youkehulian.com) and submit the registration form, project business plan, defense PPT, ID documents, commitment letter, and participation certificates, among others (please refer to Attachments 1-4 for details). The project business plan's PPT should be at least 10 pages (not including cover and table of contents) and must cover, but is not limited to, the following: project introduction, product value, team introduction, competitive advantages, marketability, past performance, and development prospects.
The organizing committee will hold a series of activities such as project briefings, site visits, policy seminars, project showcases, and expert talks, with specific arrangements to be notified separately.
Project Evaluation
Domestic and international projects will be evaluated separately by creative and entrepreneurial groups.
1. Preliminary Selection (Mid-April 2025)
Each hosting university will organize expert evaluations online. Judges will conduct online evaluations of the business plans and defense PPTs of both domestic and international teams.
After the evaluation, based on the scores, a list of finalists for the semi-finals will be determined and announced promptly.
2. Semi-finals Selection (Late April 2025)
Expert evaluations will be organized by the hosting universities. Domestic teams will present their projects in person with live evaluations by judges at the hosting universities. International teams may apply for online presentations, which will be evaluated online.
After the evaluations, based on the scores, a list of finalists for the finals will be determined and announced after public notification if there are no objections.
3. Final Competition (May 2025)
The final will be organized by the competition committee. Domestic teams will present their projects in person with live evaluations, while international teams may apply for online presentations, evaluated online.

Awards and Prizes
Competition Rewards and Monetary Prizes
Projects reaching the finals will compete in part of the categories across the six main categories, with each category offering 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and several merit awards, along with certificates, trophies, and monetary rewards.
The competition also features awards for Excellent Supervisors and Excellent Organization.
Additional Award Policies
1. First and second prize winners of the finals will advance to the semi-finals of the "Global Talent Gathering" Competition.
2. Finalists can attend innovation and entrepreneurship training workshops and CEO training courses organized by the committee, with priority recommendations to enter the "Global Talent Gathering" Entrepreneurial Training Camp, "Entrepreneur Valley" Training Camp, and Shanghai International Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp.
3. Award-winning projects will be given priority for applications for funds or guaranteed loans from relevant support units and will enjoy corresponding interest subsidies.
4. Projects that proceed to incubation will receive city and district services such as industrial and commercial registration, finance, and legal advice at science and technology incubation bases.
5. Winning projects will connect with application scenarios in various districts, providing entrepreneurial service resources such as corporate promotion and market expansion. Qualified domestic and international talents will be recommended to apply for Shanghai district talent program policies (see Attachment 5: Huangpu District, Jinshan District, Yangtze River Delta National Technological Innovation Center).
Authority of Interpretation
The final authority for the interpretation of this notice belongs to the competition organizing committee.
