The 2023 National Science Popularization Day will be held on September 16-24, 2023 at the Shougang Park in Shijingshan, Beijing.

On the afternoon of September 7, a special press conference on the 2023 National Science Popularization Day and the World Public Scientific Literacy Promotion Conference was held at the China Science and Technology Hall in Haidian District, Beijing.

The Paper learned from the China Association for Science and Technology ("China Association for Science and Technology") that the 20th National Science Popularization Day, jointly sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Beijing Municipal People's Government in conjunction with 20 national ministries and commissions, will be held on September 16-24, 2023. The day was held at Shougang Park in Shijingshan, Beijing, with the theme of "improving the scientific literacy of the whole people and helping the self-reliance and self-improvement of science and technology".

Relevant exhibitions gathered 360 exhibits from 104 units across the country, and were divided into five parts: Piloting the helm to create brilliance, self-confidence and self-reliance to strengthen the country, science and technology to benefit people's livelihood, science popularization carnival, and science education as an addition. In addition, there is an outdoor emergency science popularization experience area, an international science communication and exchange area, and a metaverse VR experience space.

Among them, the "Dream Chasing Sky" section will display the physical objects of the Mars landing platform , the actual objects of the Chang'e-5 return vehicle , the actual objects of the lunar soil , etc., and demonstrate the achievements of China's manned spaceflight, space station construction, and lunar exploration projects.

The 2023 National Science Popularization Day will focus on science popularization to help the "double reduction", do a good job in adding science education, and promote a series of activities such as the joint action of science and technology museums, the joint action of science popularization education bases, and the special action of science popularization for teenagers, to provide young people with inspiring, experiential, Interesting and interactive science popularization experience drives more young people to cherish scientific dreams and establish innovative aspirations.

Exhibitions related to "Science Education" will display the activities of science and technology clubs, achievements of science and technology competitions, and development of science and technology courses in 10 schools, showing the schools' innovative practices in the addition of science education. The students of the school will display the dancing robots developed, designed and produced by themselves.

The 2023 National Science Popularization Day event will also extensively carry out online activities such as cloud lectures, cloud viewing exhibitions, and cloud releases through live broadcasts, short videos, topic interactions, and VR to create an online activity matrix of "one province, one product, one live broadcast" and carry out Online activities such as the Beijing Cloud Carnival, the "National Science Popularization Day - Looking for 1,000 Science Popularizers" short video creation solicitation activity, and the Starry Sky Project University Tour.

At the same time, the China Association for Science and Technology will hold the 2023 World Public Science Literacy Promotion Conference at Beijing Shijingshan Shougang Park on September 19-20.

The conference was founded by the China Association for Science and Technology in 2018. This conference is the fifth and the first offline conference after the epidemic, with a scale of about 700 people, including nearly 100 foreign guests from more than 30 countries, 8 international organizations, and 5 regional organizations.

The theme of this conference is "Improve scientific literacy and go hand in hand with modernization". Related important topics include: scientific literacy improvement and human modernization; scientific literacy improvement and cultural construction and civilization inheritance; scientific literacy improvement and ecological civilization construction; national science popularization capacity building Theory and practice; the cultivation of scientific literacy of key groups; hot spots, difficulties, and key points in the construction of scientific literacy.
